“The city that never sleeps.”  That is one of the first statements that I tell others that are not from the New York City area. There is literally always something to do in this busy borough. It could be watching a play, attending a festival, trying a new dish from a particular culture, visiting a museum that expresses many things or just roaming the streets and getting a midnight snack.
I feel that my admiration for NYC started growing subconsciously during my infant days. Born at Metropolitan Hospital and living there for only the first two years of my life my appreciation for NYC grew while being raised in Astoria, Queens which is a few train stops away from the Big Apple.
When the city comes to my mind I automatically think of all the unexpected day trips my family and I took there, especially during the winter holiday season. The feeling you get while spending a couple days in Manhattan during Christmas season is wonderful compared to any other city. Another view that comes to mind is the busy fast life that seems to exist while walking the streets. Compared to any other borough Manhattan is always packed with cars and taxis speeding down the street, individuals in a hurry to go somewhere and many business stands always available for someone to make a quick purchase.
Overall Manhattan is a wonderful place to experience and to view many things. I am sure the other cities have a lot to offer depending on the places you are exposed to. One of the reasons I really wanted to join this class is to view other cites and their attractions that I have been missing while living in New York all my life.
